Object: Messier 1 - The Crab Nebula, magnitude 8,4, distance 6500 ly
Discovered by: John Bevis in 1731
Note: Supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus. This nebula can be the supernova that the Chinese noticed in 1054. The nebula is expanding with a speed of 1500km/s. That means 129,6 milj km per day and gives 47,3 biljon km/year. So in just 2 years it has been expanding 90 biljon km and this can actually be seen if you take one picture today and one in two years and compares them, those mindblowing distances are only noticable for us during a period of one or two years.
